Computer Virus Information
Please be aware that there are many computer viruses circulating on the internet and most of them don't get a lot of publicity.
If you don't have good up to date virus protection software installed on your computer you are definitely vulnerable. Get some antivirus software and keep it up to date!

- This organization was formed in 1988 to serve as a focal point for the computer security concerns of Internet users. They are professionals,
and can provide authoritative information about real computer viruses and hacking.
- Computer Incident Advisory
Center (CIAC) *
- CIAC provides on-call technical assistance and information to Department
of Energy (DOE) computer sites faced with computer security incidents.

Technology Security Page *
- The Informations Systems
and Technology
department at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (MIT) maintains this page to help members of
the MIT community with computer security issues. You can look at all of the
information, but you won't be able to download any of the anti-virus software
because it's for MIT use only (sorry).
- National Infrastructure Protection
Center

- Located in the FBI's headquarters building in Washington, D.C.,
the NIPC brings together representatives from the FBI, other U.S. government
agencies, state and local governments, and the private sector in a partnership
to protect our nation's critical infrastructures.
- Symantec
AntiVirus Research Center

- This is a web site maintained by Symantec, a producer of
various desktop softwareproducts (including antivirus software).
- U.S. Department of Energy
